October summit to feature evidence-based approaches to burnout
The Ohio State University and National Academy of Medicine Action Collaborative on Clinician Well-Being and Resilience will host the second annual Summit on Promoting Well-Being and Resilience in Healthcare Professionals Oct. 21-23 addressing burnout among health care professionals. The organizations launched the summit in 2019 “to make an impact on the rates of clinician burnout, depression, and suicide,” said Bernadette Melnyk, PhD, RN, dean of the College of Nursing and chief wellness officer at The Ohio State University. She noted these rates have worsened with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of this year’s summit is to share best practices on improving well-being and resilience among health care professionals while spurring them into action against burnout in their workplaces.
