Defining the role of the nurse supervisor: An exploratory study
We would like to invite you to participate in a research study that seeks to define the role and responsibilities of the clinical nurse supervisor, establish the psychometric properties of the Nurse Supervisor Role Delineation Questionnaire, and explore how the role of the clinical nurse supervisor impacts those whom they work with and how their workflow contributes to burnout and job satisfaction. Participation in this research study is entirely voluntary, and you may choose to discontinue participation in the online survey at any time without any penalty. Thank you in advance for your time. If you have any questions concerning the study, please contact Dustin Watts at dustin.watts@bswhealth.org.

Middle-Level Nurse Managers: Psychological Trauma, Work-Related Challenges, Substance Use and Intention to Leave
Middle-level nurse managers are needed to participate in a research study (Middle-Level Nurse Managers: Psychological Trauma, Work Challenges, Substance Use and Intention to Leave) and to complete a voluntary online survey that is being conducted by researchers from Purdue University School of Nursing. Your responses are very important and will help us better understand risk factors that might be associated with turnover intention and substance use that affect some middle-level nurse managers. The Purdue University IRB has reviewed this protocol (No. IRB-2023-1541).
To participate, registered nurses must meet these inclusion criteria: 1) an RN holding the title of nurse manager with 24-hour accountability for at least one patient care unit, 2) ability to read and speak English, and 3) you directly supervise staff nurses in your role as nurse manager.

The Impact of selected First-Line Nurse Manager’s job activities on Staff Nurses’ retention and recruitment in a hospital setting.
You are invited to participate in a study researching the First-Line Nurse Managers’ role in nursing retention. Tiffany Patton is requesting your help by completing a short survey that should take 5 minutes. The benefits obtained from this research study would add to the knowledge base supporting nurse retention and recruitment through the nurse manager’s direct influence. This study is being conducted by Tiffany Patton, a Registered Nurse completing my doctoral degree in the Workforce Education and Development program through the College of Education at Pennsylvania State University. Please consider participating in this research, and you can enter a drawing to win a $100 Amazon Gift Card at the end of the survey.
The First-Line Nurse Manager is a nurse who can plan, organize, and evaluate nursing and interdisciplinary care to a targeted group of patients and manage the human and material resources needed to deliver that care. This group of nurse managers have direct contact with staff nurses on a unit, and they perform an influential and crucial role.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
Participation in this research study is entirely voluntary, and responses are confidential, with no personal identifiers collected. The Pennsylvania State University IRB has reviewed this protocol (STUDY00023110).
