Free education offered for frontline clinicians
Hospitals, associations, academic institutions and commercial enterprises are currently offering a wide range of free courses and webinars to help clinicians refresh or gain skills needed to treat patients with COVID-19. Harvard University and edX announced they are launching a course on ventilator use. Penn Nursing is offering a course on best practices for using telehealth. Arizona State University, the New York Academy of Sciences and Mount Sinai Hospital have teamed up with Sana Labs to create Project Florence, a curriculum for “upskilling nurses to fight COVID-19." The National Emerging Special Pathogen Training and Education Center is hosting webinars on a variety of topics including labor and delivery and caring for pediatric patients. This week the Joint Commission posted a webinar featuring expert nurses discussing how to prevent COVID-19 transmission.
