Free COVID-19 courses cover wide range of topics
In response to the pandemic, opportunities to learn about timely topics are now widely available at no cost. On May 18, the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing will begin a two-week course for nurses on how to provide high quality care during a time of low resources and high uncertainty. Just in time for the planned restart of elective surgeries, a prerecorded webinar on infection prevention in ambulatory surgery centers is now available on the Joint Commission website. Additionally, the National Council of State Boards of Nursing is offering four COVID-19-related courses for health professionals. The courses are self-paced and address nursing care; epidemiology, modes of transmission and personal protective equipment; law and ethics; and media coverage and misinformation about the virus. Some of the courses convey continuing education credits.
