Study: Mandate raises employee flu vaccination by 27%

The imposition of a flu vaccine mandate at a large health care organization raised the rates of immunization from 70% to 98.4% in one year. In the decade since the mandate was issued, the organization’s flu vaccination rates have consistently exceeded 97%. The mandate also appeared to encourage earlier vaccination. These results were reported in the October American Journal of Infection Control.
