Study: COVID-19 vaccination does not affect fertility
Vaccination against COVID-19 did not affect fertility outcomes in patients undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF), according to a recent study published in Obstetrics & Gynecology. Researchers at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Reproductive Medicine Associates, both in New York City, compared rates of fertilization, pregnancy and early miscarriage in IVF patients who received the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines with outcomes in nonvaccinated patients and found “vaccination had no impact on these outcomes.” Researchers at Icahn Mount Sinai have also developed an algorithm that predicts postpartum hemorrhage with far greater accuracy than methods currently in use.
