Return-to-work protocol after COVID-19 safely increases staff availability
Implementing an early return-to-work program for health care personnel is a clinical approach to COVID-19 workplace safety, according to a study in the American Journal of Infection Control. The observational quality improvement study allowed exposed staff to return to work eight days after exposure if they remained asymptomatic through day 7 with a negative day 5-7 SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid amplification test result. Data was collected during the first six months of 2021. (AJIC article, 2/3/22)
