New York Times maps hospitals’ COVID-19 bed capacity
Using hospital-specific data released by Health and Human Services, maps created by the New York Times show many intensive care units are nearing or at capacity as the COVID-19 pandemic continues across the nation. A search engine allows readers to search any region in the country and learn how many COVID-19 patients were in a particular hospital the preceding week and how many intensive care unit beds remain available. Some hospitals have added additional surge capacity that may not be reflected in database’s baseline capacity figures. (New York Times article, 12/15/20)
