NCSBN tool helps hospitals verify location of RN licenses

The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) offers an interactive map showing the authorization-to-practice data in its Nursys database. The Nursys Authorization to Practice Map provides a visual representation of all the states where a nurse may legally practice. The map is dynamic, automatically updating licensure status as data is provided by participating boards of nursing and state agencies. Nurses, nurse employers and the public may use this resource free of charge. Nursys is the only national database for licensure verification for RNs, licensed practical/vocational nurses and APRNs. The database is designated as a primary source equivalent database through a written agreement with participating boards of nursing.
