Maternal COVID-19 vaccination safe for newborns

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported this week vaccination had no effect on the number of pre-term or low-weight births in a retrospective study of more than 40,000 pregnant women. The CDC recommends COVID-19 vaccination for women who are pregnant, recently pregnant, who are trying to become pregnant now or who might become pregnant in the future. (MMWR article, 1/4/22)
