Experts see emerging patient safety benefits from COVID-19 pandemic
With millions of people sick with COVID-19 and hundreds of thousands dead, the negative consequences of the pandemic are clear. Recognizing these ill effects, one group of researchers indicated early signs from the pandemic response show emerging benefits to patient safety. According to the authors, pandemic-related changes have improved coordination and quality of care, provoked a willingness to accept change, shined a light on the importance of infection prevention, prompted an embrace of telemedicine and more.
