COVID-19 vaccines for young children begin, long COVID explored
COVID-19 vaccinations began this week for children under the age of five. The Omicron variant could be less likely to cause long COVID-19 than the Delta variant, according to UK researchers. A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention study found that dispensing rates for COVID-19 antiviral pills were lowest in the most socially and economically disadvantaged communities. Another study from UCLA researchers found that adult flu vaccination rates have decreased in states with low rates of COVID-19 vaccination. The authors postulated that the decline may be due to lower trust in public health (The Hill article, 6/18/22)
