AONL signs onto letter calling for extension of telehealth flexibilities

AONL joined nearly 300 organizations in requesting Congress to include an extension of telehealth flexibilities ─ set to expire on Dec. 31 ─ in a year-end spending package. The letter, spearheaded by the Alliance for Connected Care, says ensuring stability for telehealth policy through calendar year 2025 would create certainty for Medicare beneficiaries who are accessing clinicians and services virtually and allow for investment in flexible virtual staffing models that address workforce shortages while maintaining high quality health care. The House announced a budget deal on Dec. 19, but details of the bill were not available at eNews press time. A previous version of the continuing resolution contained a measure to extend the flexibilities through 2026.
