AONL calls for recognition of U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps

AONL is asking members to write letters in support of an effort to include the United States Cadet Nurse Corps Service Recognition Act of 2019, S. 997, as an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act. The legislation acknowledges nurses who served in the United States Public Health Service Corps and rendered war service at military veteran and civilian hospitals, but were never recognized as veterans. Action now is imperative as these women are in advanced age. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., originally sponsored the legislation in 2019. (AONL Action Alert)
