AHA urges unified COVID-19 vaccine allocation plan
Last week, the American Hospital Association (AHA) last week urged the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine to adopt a unified set of guidelines for equitably allocating COVID-19 vaccines when they become available. AHA also stressed the importance of a singular message to the public and other stakeholders. “The country has been confused by the multiple and sometimes conflicting information on testing, infection prevention, return-to-work and school and many other decision points as we move through this pandemic,” AHA wrote. Read AHA’s full comments, which also address vaccine hesitancy, the potential for multiple available vaccines, comorbidity considerations and public- and private-sector decisions and policies.
