COVID-19: CDC, FDA and CMS Guidance

To fulfill its vision that “all people have the opportunity to attain the highest level of health possible,” the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) developed a COVID-19 response health equity strategy, which the agency recently updated.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) revised guidance issued in June 2020 transitioning states to routine oversight and survey activities at long-term care facilities after limits had been imposed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Among Medicare beneficiaries, dual-eligible individuals and members of racial and ethnic minorities experienced the highest rates of hospitalization in the first half of 2020.
