Issue brief details how to manage maternal hemorrhage
The latest Quick Safety brief from the Joint Commission details strategies for managing maternal hemorrhage to prevent maternal deaths. These include the use of standardized obstetric safety bundles, the application of high reliability principles and the use of collaborative, team-based care. The accrediting body issued two standards, one on maternal hemorrhage, the other on severe hypertension/preeclampsia. Both will take effect in July 2020. (Joint Commission Online story, 10/29/19)
