Senate passes budget resolution, reintroduces telehealth bill
The Senate voted 51 to 48 to pass a revised budget resolution for fiscal year 2025. Sens. Rand Paul, R-Ky., and Susan Collins, R-Maine, voted with Democrats in opposition. The House passed the revised Senate budget resolution, allowing Congress to start work to pass a budget. The American Hospital Association has released a Special Bulletin highlighting provisions in the revised budget resolution and AHA resources. Separately, 60 senators reintroduced the CONNECT for Health Act, AONL- and AHA-supported legislation that would expand patient access to telehealth services through Medicare while removing barriers to adoption. The bill also would make permanent COVID-19 telehealth flexibilities set to expire Sept. 30. (AHA News article, 4/4/25)
