NCC makes FY 2026 requests to House Subcommittee

AONL and 62 other Nursing Community Coalition members urged the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education to designate at least $530 million for Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs and at least $210 million for the National Institute of Nursing Research in fiscal year 2026. The NCC also called for preserving NINR as an independent institute. With the administration consolidating programs across the Health and Human Services Department, the NCC stressed nursing investments will enable the profession to provide high-quality care nationwide. It also maintained that NINR improves patient care through scientific research and innovation. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing and the American Academy of Nursing urged the administration to consult the field before implementing changes. (NCC testimony, 4/9/25)
