RN diploma program detailed at AONL conference

WVU Medicine in Morgantown, W.V., created a hospital-based RN diploma program to bring more nurses into the profession. The program seeks to address staffing shortages while also being nimble and scalable. Speaking at AONL 2025 in Boston last week, Tanya Rogers, EdD, RN, WVU Medicine assistant vice president of nursing education, said CNOs could customize similar programs for their organizations. WVU students receive one credit for every five clinical hours, and their NCLEX pass rate is comparable to traditional degree programs. Students receive free tuition if they work in the health system for three years following graduation. (HealthLeaders Media article, 4/4/25)
