CNOs urged to use social media
CNOs should post to social media to shape the nursing narrative and connect with the public and their staffs, says Marion Leary, PhD, RN, director of innovation at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. Speaking at AONL 2025 in Boston, Leary said forming relationships on social media and collaborating is an effective way to solve problems. CNOs can document on LinkedIn what their organization’s struggles are and how they are engaging with other CNOs to solve them. Posting also could attract interest from reporters, who use social media to find industry experts. Leary suggested CNOs new to social media should run their posts by a colleague to help keep the health system’s priorities in mind. (HealthLeaders Media article, 4/8/25)
