CDC maternal mortality campaign stresses listening to women’s concerns
A national campaign from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) highlights the importance of listening to pregnant women for warning signs of complications and actively addressing their concerns. “Women know their bodies and can often tell when something is not right,” said a CDC spokesperson. The Hear Her campaign is sharing personal stories of pregnancy-related complications and informing the public about warning signs requiring urgent attention. The goal is to avert the 700 deaths and roughly 50,000 complications associated with U.S. pregnancies annually. (CDC news release, 8/10/20)
