NCC thanks bill sponsors for introducing Precept Act

AONL and 54 other members of the Nursing Community Coalition thanked Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., and Rep. Jen Kiggans, R-Va., for introducing the bipartisan Providing Real-World Education and Clinical Experience by Precepting Tomorrow’s Nurses Act (H.R. 392/S. 131). The AONL-supported legislation would establish a $2,000 tax credit for nurses who serve at least 200 hours as clinical preceptors to nursing students, with specific emphasis to those in a Health Professional Shortage Area. The bill would address nursing shortages and increase the number of RNs and APRNs, especially in rural and underserved areas. (NCC letter, 2/28/25)
