Equity-Minded Nurse Awardee named

Wei-Ti Chen, PhD, RN, received the 2024 Equity-Minded Nurse Leader Award for developing and disseminating tools to improve the health care and quality of life for people with HIV/AIDS, Tourette Syndrome and mobile populations. A professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Nursing, Chen identifies the best approaches for developing suitable, effective and sustainable health policies in HIV care. She is one of the first nurse scientists to conduct HIV intervention research with Asians in the U.S. and in Asia. Co-sponsored by AONL, the award recognizes a catalyst for change at the systems or organization level. The award was one of five presented by the Center for Health Equity through Nursing and the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action. (Campaign for Action news release, 9/10/24)
