Court rulings block health care worker COVID-19 vaccine mandates
Two recent court rulings put on hold the Biden administration’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for health care workers. On Nov. 30, a Louisiana-based district judge temporarily blocked the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) from enforcing the mandate. The ruling applied nationwide, except in 10 states where CMS was already prevented from enforcing the rule due to a prior order from a federal judge in St. Louis. Health and Human Services filed an appeal to the Louisiana decision on Dec. 1. (Reuters article, 11/30/21)
