APIC supports COVID-19 vaccination mandates in health care facilities

The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) announced its support this week for hospitals and health systems requiring all employees and clinical team members to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. “As health care professionals, we have an ethical responsibility to protect those individuals entrusted to our care,” APIC’s president said in a statement, noting mandatory vaccination policies for influenza and other infectious diseases already exist in health care settings and have proven effective.
