AONL Honoree Diversifies Workforce, Cultivates Belonging
An article in the August issue of Nurse Leader describes the efforts of Children’s Health to prioritize diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in workforce development and operations that led it to receive the 2024 AONL Prism Award. Nursing leaders at the system, with locations across North Texas, aligned the nursing strategic plan to the organization’s DEIB priorities, including diversifying the nursing workforce and building a diverse talent pipeline program. Children’s Health fosters a culture of wellness for employees and patients, as well as makes sure every employee feels heard, respected and welcomed. The Prism Award recognizes a health care system for its leadership in advancing diversity and inclusion within the nursing profession, organization or community.
