HHS launches COVID-19 outpatient treatment locator
To save lives and reduce the number of COVID-19 patients requiring hospitalization, Health and Human Services (HHS) recently launched a web-based COVID-19 outpatient treatment locator. The tool aims to increase the use of monoclonal antibody therapeutics by helping health care providers and patients find places to access the treatment. HHS is also working with health care organizations on provider education and collaborating with communities to set up temporary infusion centers on medical center grounds. The government granted emergency use authorization of monoclonal antibodies for patients with mild or moderate COVID-19 who are at high risk of developing severe symptoms requiring hospitalization in November 2020.
