Survey: 90% of Nurses Are Vaccinated Against COVID-19, 58% Support Mandates
Data from a nationwide survey of more than 4,500 nurses indicated a majority of nurses stand behind the science of the COVID-19 vaccines and support mandatory vaccinations for all employees. A full 90% of nurses reported they were vaccinated against COVID-19, 85% said they would get a booster shot if recommended, and 58% supported mandatory vaccination. These findings demonstrate nurses are fulfilling their professional and ethical obligations, said Ernest J. Grant, PhD, RN, president of the American Nurses Association (ANA). ANA conducted the survey in conjunction with the COVID Vaccine Facts for Nurses campaign in which AONL is taking part. (ANA news release, 8/18/21)
