Hospital uses inpatient telehealth to minimize COVID-19 exposure
MarinHealth based in Greenbrae, Calif., has outfitted more than 90 of its hospital rooms with telehealth equipment to minimize staff exposure to the coronavirus and conserve personal protective equipment. The technology also enables nurses to interact with COVID-19 patients more frequently and streamlines processes such as changing IV fluid bags by allowing one nurse to remain outside the patient’s room. “The technology is getting us to think differently about how we can do our work more efficiently, and yet give the patient what they need,” said Karin Reese, MSN, RN, MarinHealth's chief nursing officer.
