AHA Advisory Updates Hospitals on COVID-19

This week, the American Hospital Association (AHA) posted an advisory with resources to help hospitals and health systems prepare for coronavirus diseases 2019 (COVID-19). The update highlights two recently released resources from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The COVID-19 hospital preparedness assessment tool is a checklist hospitals can use to assess their readiness to receive patients with COVID-19. The second resource, covering personal protective equipment (PPE), details who does and who does not need PPE and offers strategies for optimizing PPE supplies. At 2:30 p.m. ET today, the AHA is hosting a webinar with Providence St. Joseph Health headquartered in Renton, Wash. An online recording of the event will be available.
