Tri-Council responds to NYT article on nurse staffing
In an Aug. 21 New York Times article, health leaders raised concerns about hospital staffing and the burden of caring for COVID-19 patients and their communities. In response, the Tri-Council for Nursing, released a statement noting it shared these concerns and “calls for all eligible individuals to be vaccinated and masked to stem the tide of this surge. For patients, health care workers are often the difference between life and death. During this pandemic, they remain on the front lines risking their own health and well-being in the process,” the statement said. “It is imperative we do all we can to support them in this fight.” AONL is a member of the Tri-Council as are the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, the American Nurses Association, the National Council of State Boards of Nursing and the National League for Nursing.
