Senate includes nursing provisions in Build Back Better Act
The Senate HELP Committee and Finance Committee this week released an updated draft of Build Back Better Act language. The bill still includes important academic nursing provisions, including $500 million for schools of nursing in underserved areas; $500 million for the Nurse Corps to support scholarships and loan repayment assistance; and $170 million to grow and diversify the nursing workforce in maternal and perinatal health. An alert on the AONL Advocacy Action Center webpage encourages members to let Congress know health care workers need its help. (AACN’s Washington Weekly article, 12/15/21)
