School to study stress-reduction techniques to increase graduation rates
Nursing students participating in a study are receiving coaching on meditation and stress-reduction techniques. Researchers at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing are conducting the study to reduce stressors that prevent nursing students from graduating on time. Study participants receive information about available academic resources and work with faculty to develop individualized study plans. The study incorporates simulation into classroom content, which is available to all students. Nursing students experience higher stress levels compared with other majors, and stress levels are increasing, according to research. (HealthLeaders Media article, 2/28/23)
