Program to address nurse burnout features peer support
Peer support is at the center of a program to reduce nurse burnout. Sponsored by the American Nurses Foundation and the United Health Foundation, the three-year, $3.1 million partnership seeks to transform organizational culture, remove the stigma involved from seeking mental health support and help nurses to use mental health resources earlier and more effectively. The program especially will focus on meeting the needs of Millennial and Generation Z nurses and nurses of color, who are disproportionately struggling with burnout. The program will start at four health care settings and expand to additional sites. (Daily Nurse blog, 2/14/23)
