NCC praises Biden administration’s FY 2023 budget
The Nursing Community Coalition (NCC) applauded the Biden administration on Tuesday for including key domestic and health care programs in its fiscal year (FY) 2023 budget. The proposed budget includes $295 million for Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs. The Advanced Nursing Education program would receive a $25 million increase to grow and diversify the maternal and perinatal health workforce, and the Nurse Education, Practice, Quality and Retention program would receive a $2 million increase to develop a diverse nursing workforce and train nurses to provide behavioral health and primary care services in rural and underserved communities. The Nursing Workforce Diversity Program would receive a $3.5 million increase. AONL is one of 63 national nursing organizations that make up the NCC. (NCC news release, 3/29/22)
