Keynote speaker explores the power of joy

AONL 2022 keynote speaker Shabnam Mogharabi was met with laughter as she spoke about the power of joy. Mogharabi is cofounder of media company SoulPancake, which creates videos and other media designed to encourage dialogue about what it means to be human. She encouraged audience members to reflect on ways to bring more joy into their lives. Her Joy Toolkit stressed the importance of expressing gratitude, making human connections and living for a cause. She noted that people whose leaders are open to hearing from staff about ways to improve the workplace are 12 times more likely to recommend their employers to potential hires. Mogharabi urged attendees to “build each other up,” focusing on joy, hope and gratitude.
