Joint Commission creates health equity resource center

The Joint Commission created a Health Care Equity Accreditation Standards & Resource Center to help organizations meet its health care equity standards, which go into effect in January 2023. Resources include toolkits, templates and guides; brief videos of organizations’ lessons learned; synopses of approaches used by organizations; and evidence-based interventions. The Joint Commission says its requirements for hospitals, critical access hospitals and some sectors of ambulatory care and behavioral health care and human services organizations recognize health care organizations need established leaders and standardized structures and processes to detect and address health disparities.
