Hospital associations release joint statement on COVID-19 vaccination

The American Hospital Association (AHA), three other hospital associations and the Association of American Medical Colleges released a joint statement July 27, urging all health care personnel to get the COVID-19 vaccine. The statement also expressed support for vaccination mandates and urged hospitals to educate staff and their communities about the benefits of vaccination. A July 27 health advisory from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also recommends that unvaccinated clinicians receive shots as soon as possible. As of July 29, more than 60 hospital systems had COVID-19 vaccination mandates in place. (AHA news release, 7/27/21)
