Health system pays nurses to take ‘renewal days’

Advocate Aurora Health pays nurses and other staff members to participate in a “renewal day” centered on employee wellness. The 27-hospital system, headquartered in Milwaukee and Downer’s Grove, Ill., offers a one-day workshop at least three days a month. The voluntary workshop brings employees from across the system to support each other and discuss their experiences through journaling, group discussions and other activities. More than 90% of participants who filled out a post-event survey said that participating in the program helped them to feel more heard and supported. (Becker’s Hospital Review article, 6/8/22)
