Expanding home health offerings can benefit health systems
Being part of a large health system permits PIH Health Home Health to use its connections and resources to enable efficient workflows and systems, according to Shelly Necke, RN, PIH Health’s vice president of post acute services. The Los Angeles Business Journal recently recognized the La Mirada, Calif.-based organization as the best homecare program. The system aligns its post-acute care services ─ including palliative care, hospice, home care and a remote patient monitoring system ─ under one leadership structure. Patients using the remote monitoring system record their vitals, which a nurse monitors. The system can quickly identify concerning trends and address them quickly, which has lowered hospital re-admission rates. (HealthLeaders Media article, 10/10/22)
