Defense authorization honors U.S. Cadet Nurses Corps

A provision to honor the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps was included in the House-passed National Defense Authorization Act, H.R. 7900. Rep. Cheri Bustos, D-Ill., the original co-sponsor of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps Recognition Act, H.R. 2568, introduced the amendment. It “expresses that it is the sense of Congress that women who served in the Cadet Nurse Corps honorably stepped up for their country during its time of need in World War II, significantly contributing to the war effort and the safety and security of the Nation.” AONL supports this recognition.
