Colorado reactivates crisis staffing standards
This week, Colorado declared the entire state at high risk for COVID-19 infections, and health officials reinstated crisis standards of care for hospital staffing. Leaders at more than a third of Colorado hospitals told the state they expected a shortage of intensive care beds in the next week, and nearly two in five said they would be short on staff. The state also extended COVID-19 vaccine booster eligibility to all adults in the state. California is also seeing a surge in COVID-19 case rates this month despite only moderate transmission in October. (Denver Post article,1/9/21)
