Clinic staffed solely by NPs set to expand
The Good Clinic, a start-up health care chain staffed solely by nurse practitioners (NPs), emphasizes wellness and continuity of care. Larry Diamond, CEO of Mitesco, Inc., which operates the Minneapolis-based brand, plans to expand to 50 clinics by next year; he will prioritize opening clinics in the 26 states and Washington, D.C. that allow full practice authority for nurse practitioners. With the shortage of primary care physicians, more people are relying on urgent care clinics to address immediate health concerns, Diamond said. However, urgent care clinics do not adequately provide for continuity of care for people with chronic diseases, according to Diamond. The Good Clinic opened in February 2021.
