CMS extends Medicaid postpartum coverage in Washington

Washington became the latest state to receive approval from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to extend postpartum coverage for Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program enrollees from 60 days to 12 months after pregnancy. Washington joined 15 other states that have extended postpartum coverage since last year under the American Rescue Plan Act or through a Section 1115 Medicaid demonstration project.
