AHA seeks input to shape suicide prevention initiatives
The American Hospital Association (AHA) is seeking member input to inform activities for a newly funded Centers for Disease Control and Prevention project focused on preventing suicide in the health care workforce. An initial group of solutions for supporting care teams already has been compiled. Hospitals and health systems with initiatives that add to this body of knowledge on screening and supporting employees experiencing depression, anxiety and other types of emotional distress are asked to share their innovations via a survey no later than Monday, Nov. 1. The AHA hopes these shared stories may inspire other organizations to better support the mental well-being of their team members.
