AHRQ announces launch of digital health care division
Earlier this week, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) announced the launch of its division of digital healthcare research. The division will build on the agency’s digital health care research program, whose mission is to “produce and disseminate evidence about how the evolving digital health care ecosystem can best advance the quality, safety, and effectiveness of health care for patients and their families.” AHRQ applies the term “digital health care” to both the transfer of information between patient and provider and “the intelligent use of all related data.” Last month AHRQ announced a related research funding opportunity intended to support large-scale projects improving communication and care transitions via health information technologies.
