HHS investigates hospitals for ‘workplace discrimination’
Health and Human Services is investigating four unnamed hospitals and medical schools for “alleged workforce discrimination.” The department said the investigations responded to allegations received by the HHS Office of Civil Rights that certain hospital and medical schools receiving HHS funding “may operate medical education, training, or scholarship programs for current or prospective workforce members that discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, or sex.” HHS says the decision aligns with President Trump’s executive order “ending illegal discrimination and restoring merit-based opportunity.” (AHA News article, 3/10/25)
