Psychiatric NP offers self-care tips for pandemic times
Diane N. Solomon, PhD, PMHNP-BC, CNM, a psychiatric nurse practitioner (NP) in Portland, Ore., outlined her “ABCDEs” of self-care in a recent blog post. They included: A: Stay informed about the pandemic but limit exposure to fearful news; B: honor your body with good nutrition, fresh air, exercise and rest; C: Connect to loves ones but also to yourself by being mindful of thoughts that provoke excessive anxiety; D: Develop creative solutions to the pandemic’s constraints and build resilience in the process; and E: Seek emotional support if you’re having trouble coping with current stresses.
