April AJIC looks at face masks, shields and other PPE
The April issue of the American Journal of Infection Control (AJIC) focused on a variety of topics related to personal protective equipment (PPE). Articles include a laboratory simulation designed to demonstrate surgical mask and face shield efficacy while speaking, an examination of layered isolation gown fluid resistance and a national study of PPE availability during the first month of the COVID-19 pandemic. Two additional articles address decontaminating filtering facepiece respirators.
